Andrea Warnick is a nurse, educator, and registered psychotherapist who specializes in helping families, professionals, volunteers, and communities prepare children for a death and supporting them in their grief. With a degree in nursing, a Masters degree in Thanatology (dying and death) and years of nursing and counselling experience both domestically and internationally, Andrea comes to her work with a unique mix of medical and psychosocial expertise.
Andrea teaches across the country on topics related to supporting grieving children and youth. She developed and teaches the Certificate Program in Children's Grief and Bereavement at Ontario's Hincks-Dellcrest Centre. As a member of the Canadian Virtual Hospice clinical team Andrea provides advice, and develops and reviews content related to supporting grieving children, their families and their wider community. She also responds to and collaborates on CVH's "Ask a Professional" questions. Andrea lives in Toronto where she provides counselling and education through her business, Andrea Warnick Consulting.
